Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) is a premier scientific organisation of India, started in the year 1914 in Kolkata, with Headquarters at Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
The President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the science congress today (03 January, 2013) and said he wished to see India win a Noble Prize in science. Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh unveiled the country’s science, technology and innovation policy that he said aims to put India among the top five science powerhouses in the world by 2020.
- The centenary session scheduled for 3rd – 7th January, 2013. The theme selected for the centenary session is “Science for shaping the future of India”.
- The first meeting of the Indian Science Congress was held from January 15-17, 1914 at the premises of the Asiatic Society, Calcutta.
- The 99th edition of the ISCA (Indian Science Congress Association) was hosted by KIIT University and National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar, Orissa from January 3 to January 7, 2012.
