Pituitary Gland: It is located just below the brain. It is called as the master gland because it secretes number of hormones which control the functioning of all other glands. Our growth depends on the secretion of the pituitary gland. It secretes growth hormone. A person having less growth hormone remains very short (Dwarfism); on the other hand, a person having much growth hormone becomes very tall (Gigantism). In adults, excess secretion leads to a condition called acromegaly.
